App State engages with local community to build Habitat for Humanity home

Appalachian State University is partnering with Watauga County Habitat for Humanity (WCHH) to build a home from the ground up. While Appalachian students, staff and faculty have participated in many of the nonprofit organization’s builds over the years, this is the first time the university has taken ownership of a project long before the hammer hits the nail.

The campuswide App Builds a Home initiative, which began in fall 2018, includes the funding, design and construction of a home in the local community.
