CHICAGO — The Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) has selected Robin Moeller, Associate Professor of Library Science at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC, as the next Member Editor for its open source, peer-reviewed research journal, the Journal of Research on Libraries and Young Adults (JRLYA).

“I am thrilled to be named as the member editor of JRLYA and am very excited about the opportunity to help further the dissemination of research about libraries and young adults,” said Moeller. “No other research journal serves as the cornerstone of this community and I am excited to help broaden its access and expand its audience. Youth services and resources are continuously evolving, and JRLYA is the space in which researchers can give close, careful attention to what is happening and how that impacts youth librarianship.”

Moeller will begin her one-year appointment on June 1, 2018. She replaces Denise Agosto, associate professor in the College of Information Science & Technology at Drexel University, who has ably served as Member Editor for the past five years.

The Journal of Research on Libraries and Young Adults is an open-access, peer-reviewed online research journal published by YALSA. Its purpose is to enhance the development of theory, research, and practices to support young adult library services, as emphasized in YALSA’s National Research Agenda on Libraries, Learning and Teens. To learn more about JRLYA, including how to submit an article for consideration, and to view the last issue of JRLYA, please visit http://www.yalsa.ala.org/jrlya/.

The mission of the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) is to support library staff in alleviating the challenges teens face, and in putting all teens ‒ especially those with the greatest needs ‒ on the path to successful and fulfilling lives.
