A summer enrichment program for rising 1st-6th grade students sponsored by the Reich College of Education
About Kaleidoscope After-school Learning Program
Kaleidoscope offers children between the ages of 5 and 12 a stimulating multi-faceted learning experience with:
- homework support and remedial reading and math tutoring
- academic tutoring
- regular access to books and multi-media
- guest speakers
- arts and crafts
- indoor and outdoor games
- field trips to on-campus locations and downtown Boone attractions
Program Supervision
The program is supervised by experienced, retired Watauga County teachers. They are assisted by a talented group of tutors and mentors who are undergraduate students in the Reich College of Education (RCOE).
Meeting Times
Kaleidoscope operates Monday through Thursday from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, during Appalachian's Fall and Spring semesters.
Site Locations
- RCOE building on the Appalachian campus: Monday/Wednesday and Tuesday/Thursday
- Bradford Park: Monday/Wednesday and Tuesday/Thursday
Register Now
Families may choose either a Monday/Wednesday or a Tuesday/Thursday placement. Space is limited and openings are filled on a first-come-first-serve basis.
