The Reich College of Education (RCOE) received over 170 scholarship applications for incoming students. Scholarship awards for 2022-2023 went to 19 outstanding incoming students, totaling nearly $137,000, from 15 counties across North Carolina. Recipients participated in a thorough selection process over the spring semester, which included an application and interview with current App State faculty, staff and current students.
Scholarships awarded from the RCOE consist of merit-based and need-based and range from $2,500 - $12,500. The class of 2026 demonstrated exceptional accomplishments in their respective high schools, which included remarkable academic achievement, notable community service and extracurricular involvement.
All incoming recipients are part of the Appalachian Community of Education Scholars (ACES), which promotes teacher leadership through rich, multifaceted programming focused on mentoring, leadership, service, and professional development. The RCOE is committed to providing incoming students the opportunity to pursue higher education and attain the necessary skills to achieve excellence in their future classrooms.
