The 1899 Legacy Society members have included a provision for Appalachian State University in their estate plans. Above and beyond any regular giving habits, this action demonstrates extraordinary commitment to the University and exceptional faith in the future of an educated people. Numerous programs within the RCOE serve the campus and the community. An example is the Appalachian Community of Education Scholars (ACES) program, which serves approximately 200 students annually. ACES is a four-year scholar program for future teachers focusing on mentoring, leadership, service, and personal and professional development. Your support funds program administration and professional development and community engagement opportunities for these students.

The RCOE strives to foster a wide-reaching community of practice. Examples include support for student educational travel and faculty travel - regional, national and international. Your support funds these opportunities, which help to establish collaborative partnerships for teaching and research.
