Cameron Ammann (née Savage), originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, graduated in 2006 with a B.S. in elementary education. She is currently working towards her M.A. in reading education.
"I chose Appalachian for both my education degrees because of the reputation and rigor of the programs. The classes are challenging and in depth. The cohort with WS/FCS for my masters program is fantastic, and the opportunity to learn and experience best practice in reading instruction is invaluable."
Cameron is employed as an Early Learning Partner with Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools in Winston Salem, North Carolina. She works with kindergarten teachers in eight schools, overseeing implementation of research-based instructional methodologies, as well as providing direct coaching and modeling for teachers who are part of the Direct Instruction programs. Her responsibilities also include data collection, staff training, and observations.
