Jayme Farmer, originally from Rochester, New York, graduated in 2007 with a B.S. in special education general curriculum.
Currently Farmer is an exceptional children's teacher for Lincoln County Schools at West Lincoln High School in Lincoln, North Carolina. She teaches the occupational course of study for students in grades 9-12.
“I chose to attend Appalachian because of the beautiful campus, friendly people, weather, and overall atmosphere,” said Farmer.

Impacting Education in Her Community
Farmer is making an impact on education in her community.
“I equip special needs students with career-ready skills in order to be valuable contributors to society,” said Farmer.
Last September, Farmer received the Educator Excellence award for the 2018-2019 academic year from Kim Davis, EC Director for Lincoln County Schools.
