“I chose Appalachian because it started as a Teacher’s College. I knew from a very young age that I wanted to become a teacher, and I felt Appalachian would be the best place to learn how to achieve my goals. I’m so grateful to all the professors and educators who helped me become the educator I am today. After having such an amazing experience in undergrad, I knew I wanted to go back to App for my masters. The opportunity to learn from Dr. Morris and the other faculty truly helped me become a better teacher. Appalachian’s Anderson Reading Clinic gave me the chance to practice all that I had learned and receive guidance from experts in the field. I believe that App’s Reading Clinic and their research kept my professors current with best practices for teaching reading. I never felt they were out of touch with what it was like to actually teach children, especially struggling readers.”
