Appalachian Educators Club Hosts A Discussion with K-12 Education Leaders on September 22, 2021

The Reich College of Education’s (RCOE) Appalachian Educators club presents “A Discussion with K-12 Education Leaders”.

The event will feature State Superintendent of Public Instruction Catherine Truitt, along with Julie Pittman, Special Advisor on Teacher Engagement and the 2018 Burroughs Wellcome Fund Western Region North Carolina Teacher of the Year, and Freebird McKinney, Director of Government and Community Affairs and 2018 Burroughs Wellcome Fund North Carolina Teacher of the Year, as they discuss their experience in education and relevant topics related to education here in the state. Truitt and her team will provide background on their careers in education while also discussing how the mission and goals of the Department of Public Instruction and State Board of Education impact educators at all levels.

Current education majors, alumni, faculty, staff, and educators are invited to attend. The format of the event will be a town hall. Guests are asked to complete this form to register and submit a question to the presenters.
