Bryan Doppel Joins CETLSS as Instructional Technology Consultant

The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning for Student Success (CETLSS) welcomes Bryan Doppel as Instructional Technology Consultant.

In this position, Doppel will support the Reich College of Education (RCOE) by serving as the primary RCOE faculty contact in CETLSS for instructional design and support and training of AsULearn and other instructional technologies and practices. 

Doppel is an educator himself. He taught social studies at Wilkes County Schools in North Carolina and social studies and career and technical education at Goochland County Public Schools in Virginia. Most recently, he worked as an instructional designer at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Doppel earned his Bachelor of Science degree in social studies education from Appalachian State University. He then attended James Madison University in Virginia, earning a Master of Education degree in educational technology. 

“I graduated from Appalachian and loved my time here,” said Doppel. “I have always wanted to return here to serve the university and community that helped get me where I am!” 

Doppel is most excited about returning to the high country with his wife and baby daughter. He shared that he met his wife in a special education course in the RCOE ten years ago!

Doppel’s hobbies include podcasting, baking, and spending time with his family.
