Crass Joins RCOE Staff

Mary Beth Crass has joined the Reich College of Education (RCOE) as an administrative support specialist in the Alliance for Research on Regional Colleges (ARRC). In this position, Crass is the main point of contact for visitors to the ARRC offices. She oversees managing purchasing and contracts and assists with the planning of events and professional development offerings. She is also the primary point of contact for post-award administrative activities.

Crass is not new to App State. Prior to joining the RCOE, Crass was the administrative support associate for the Department of Art at Appalachian State University and was previously at Two Rivers Community School.

Crass earned a B.A. in art history from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and a certificate in decorative techniques and restoration from City and Guilds of North America from Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College. 

Having grown up in a college town, Crass said that she “realize(d) the importance of the relationship between the university and the community. A strong relationship is beneficial to both the students and their wider community.”
