Nash Awarded the Early Literacy Teacher Educator of the Year Award

Dr. Kindel Turner Nash, the Spangler Distinguished Professor of Early Childhood Literacy in the Department of Reading Education and Special Education, was named the recipient of the 2022 Early Literacy Teacher Educator of the Year award by the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) Early Childhood Education Assembly at the 2022 NCTE Annual Convention in Anaheim, California, on November 19, 2022.

This award recognizes teacher educators whose research and practice demonstrate strong connections between schools and community, and work with families from a wide range of cultural and linguistic backgrounds and abilities. 

“I am humbled at this recognition, and it makes me feel even more focused on my purpose: the children,” said Nash.
