The Reich College of Education (RCOE) Dean’s Office and the Office of Research are hosting a Research Mini-Bonanza to assist faculty who want to develop or refine their research agenda, identify research collaborators, hear about RCOE research experiences, and/or seek funding for their projects.

Are you seeking external funding for your research projects? Are you interested in opportunities to collaborate with colleagues?
The Research Bonanza is a fun and informative event designed to help you:
- Learn ways to develop and/or refine your research agenda;
- Find research partners and collaborators and learn about RCOE research from your colleagues;
- Learn strategies for matching your research to funding agencies and specific opportunities
- Provide opportunities for conversation and idea generation!
Before the event
After you register for the event, please take a few minutes to prepare one of the following:
- A 2-minute elevator pitch about your research interests and potential areas of collaboration
- A question or suggestion about a specific need you have related to conducting your research during the pandemic
Schedule
Hour 1: Developing your idea and the research agenda
Facilitated by Katie Shoaf, Associate Director of Grants Resources & Services, and Karen Fletcher, Director of Grants Resources & Services
Time: 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Presentation and discussion centered around the following guiding questions:
- What’s a research agenda?
- How do I make one?
- What if my research is affected by the pandemic?
- What resources are available to help me build and pursue my research agenda?
- What are important milestones for your research trajectory?
Hour 2: Finding a sponsor/searching for opportunities and the Appstate Office of Research support and process
Facilitated by Katie Shoaf, Associate Director of Grants Resources & Services, and Karen Fletcher, Director of Grants Resources & Services
Time: 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Presentation and discussion centered around the following guiding questions:
- How can the Office of Research support me when seeking grant funding?
- How do I find research collaborators?
- How do I find out about internal and external research events, opportunities, and competitions?
- What barriers are you facing pursuing research? What resources would help you overcome those challenges?
- How has COVID-19 interrupted, changed, or enhanced your research?
