Did you know that you can complete your Professional Development requirements with your own chosen activities? The Professional Development Passport program is designed for you, the pre-service teacher educator to design your professional learning according to your interests as they intersect with the North Carolina Teaching Standards. Your event reflections are a critical aspect of the selection and application of the concepts you design for your individualized professional development plan. The teacher education programs provide opportunities, such as regional and state conferences, subject and discipline level speakers, and other discipline related events that the Passport Professional Development Program may not capture in either Engage or the Professional Development Newsletter.
This is OK!!!
Follow the directions for documenting your professional development on the 3-2-1 Professional Development Exit Ticket website. This is how you will keep track of your professional development for events that do not show up in Engage or on the Professional Development Newsletter. Your choice of documentation tool will be submitted to your instructor at the end of your student teaching semester. The example on the page shows how to create a spreadsheet; however, you may use any form of electronic record that is comfortable for you to use.
If you have additional questions about the Passport Professional Development Program please read the information on the webpage linked here. Enjoy the activities available to you!
