Justification: A group is needed to facilitate and support internal and external communications for the RCOE.
Responsibilities: The RCOE Communications Committee will:
Solicit committee membership as needed.
Encourage and facilitate the sharing of news, stories, events and accolades.
Write drafts of departmental news and events releases, especially those related to strategic plan initiatives.
Update RCOE calendar with departmental events.
Coordinate internal communications via elevator posters and bulletin board flyers, SCALA digital screens, email (Google Groups), AppSync (students) and more.
Coordinate external communications via social media, iModules (alumni), print publications, banners, swag and more.
Share communications best practices including information dissemination from UComm, Webmaster’s Office and more at departmental/program meetings.
Facilitate yearly or as needed web page audits and updates, including top-tier program pages.
Coordinate, review and audit print publications.
Coordinate updates to office/building signage as needed.
Assist with college event coordination (see Events Sub-committee).
This body will meet monthly.
Reporting: This body reports through the Communications Liaison to the Dean of the Reich College of Education and makes recommendations as needed.

Justification: A group (sub-committee of the Communications Committee) is needed to provide guidance to persons scheduling events in the RCOE and to facilitate and support major college events. These include:
- College Meetings (6)
- Commencement Receptions (2) and hooding ceremonies
- Homecoming events
- Honors luncheon (1)
- Mountaineer Readers tailgate (1)
- Open House (2)
- Freshman Preview Day (1)
- Rhododendron (1)
- Teacher Ed Orientation (6)
- Others as needed
Responsibilities: The RCOE Events Sub-committee will:
Solicit committee membership as needed.
Create policies and procedures for events in the RCOE, including:
Room reservations - how to reserve space and/or suggested spaces;
Set-up and break-down requirements - furniture moving/removal and/or clean-up;
Food and beverage;
How to schedule: housekeeping, catering, parking and more;
AV needs;
Event promotion.
Provide guidance for internal and external reservations.
Assist with all aspects of major college event coordination.
This body will meet monthly or as needed.
