MLS Student Arai Greenwell-McAnsh Awarded Primary Sources Teaching Fellowship

Arai Greenwell-McAnsh, a student in the Reich College of Education’s Masters in Library Science program, has been awarded the Primary Sources Teaching Fellowship from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNCC). 

The $5,000 fellowship supports Masters in Library and Information Science students interested in learning about teaching with primary sources and includes a five-week online summer training program, a three-day workshop at UNCC, and placement in an internship, which includes a $3,500 stipend.

“The award is reaffirming the hard work that I have put into my education,” said Greenwell-McAnsh. “This award also is helping me complete my career goals in a very direct way.”

After graduating from App State Greenwell-McAnsh plans “to continue to impact local families through my passion for and dedication to education and development.”

Greenwell-McAnsh, who is from Asheville, North Carolina, earned her Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
