RCOE Welcomes New Recruitment, Retention, and Scholarship Coordinator

Leigh Anna Marbert ’10 has joined the Reich College of Education’s (RCOE) Office of the Dean as the Recruitment, Retention, and Scholarship Coordinator.

Marbert’s position plays a key role in supporting student success. Her responsibilities include developing and implementing strategies, coordinating events, and managing the scholarship process.

Having earned her Bachelor of Science in communications, public relations from Appalachian State University in 2010, she has always felt a connection to the university and area.

“About six months ago, my family and I felt a nudge to seek opportunity in the High Country,” recounted Marbert. “When this position opened up, I knew it was the perfect opportunity to bring my background in strategic communications and community engagement back to the community that gave me so much.”

“It's an honor to contribute to the growth and success of App State and the surrounding area,” she added.

Marbert also earned her Master of Business Administration from Pfeiffer University in 2016, and her previous professional experience includes being the communications director for First Baptist Church of Asheboro, public information officer for Asheboro City Schools and City of Asheboro, and the public relations coordinator for Randolph Health.

“I am most excited about this adventure my family and I are embarking on here in Boone,” said Marbert. “My husband, Bryan, and I are proud parents to Max (6) and Dot (4), and we truly believe that moving to this area is one of the best decisions we could have made for their growth and well-being.”

“From the incredible outdoor experiences to the strong sense of community, we’re looking forward to all the opportunities Boone has to offer for our family to learn, explore, and thrive,” she added.
