Dr. Chris Cook is a professor of middle-level education in the Department of Learning, Teaching, and Curriculum at Appalachian State University.
He earned his B.S. and M.A. in middle grades education from Appalachian State University. After teaching middle school for six years, he earned his Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
His current research and teaching interests focus on effective middle grades practices, current implementation of the "middle school concept", and middle grades teacher preparation. His work has been published in middle grades journals, such as the Middle Grades Research Journal, Research in Middle Level Education Online, and Current Issues in Middle Level Education.
