Dr. Daniel Byrd serves as the executive director of teacher education. Prior to joining the RCOE staff, he held several other positions at App State, including academic advisor, adjunct professor, academic content consultant, and assistant director for the Office of Student Success.
He earned a B.S. degree in psychology from Auburn University and an M.Ed. and Ph.D. in social studies education from the University of Georgia.
For the past seven years, Byrd has been the primary caretaker of the App State ducks and likes to say that the ducks are “the best unofficial mascots in college!”
