Dr. Joey Lord is the Instructional Coordinator of Hickory Education Programs and a lecturer in the Department of Learning, Teaching, and Curriculum.
Lord received an Ed.D. in education/curriculum and instruction from the University of Phoenix, an M.S.Ed. in mathematics education from Nova Southeastern University, an M.A.Ed. in education administration and supervision from the University of Phoenix, and a B.S. in psychology from Ball State University.
Prior to joining App State, Lord worked at Gardner-Webb University as an assistant professor at Indian River State College in compliance and accreditation, and at Union County Public Schools as a curriculum specialist and teacher.
Her research interests include mathematics education, achievement gaps, equitable learning, MTSS/RTI, intervention, and science education.
Lord is a member of many professional organizations, including the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE), Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD), Kappa Delta Pi (KDP), North Carolina Association of Educators (NCAE), North Carolina Association for Middle Level Education (NCMLE), and North Carolina Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCCTM).
