Dr. Julie Hasson’s mission is to support educators in helping all students achieve better academic, social, and emotional outcomes. This mission is evident in all areas of her work. It drives her to ensure that her teaching provides graduate students with ample opportunities to apply their learning to their schoolwork. It leads her to ensure that her scholarly and creative work is accessible and applicable to practitioners. And it draws her to service that makes a clear impact on K-12 students and educators. Having spent over two decades as a K-12 teacher and school principal, Dr. Hasson brings a practitioner lens to her teaching, research, and service. She is the author of several practitioner-focused books, articles, and book chapters.

Her research focuses on student-educator relationships, educator retention, educator well-being, and equity-centered leadership.
