Dr. Rong Zhang is an assistant professor in the Department of Child Development, Literacy, and Special Education at Appalachian State University.

Her research interests include children's picturebook and wordless picturebook reading. She conduct multimodal text analysis of children's literature and young children's comprehension towards multimodal texts. In addition, she also study family language and literacy practices of emergent bilingual family.
