Dr. Rachel Wilson

Dr. Wilson earned a Ph.D. in science education from the University of Georgia. Her research focuses on the use of multiple modes of representation to make science learning more accessible for students, as well as the identity work of elementary science teachers. She focuses her projects on collaborative planning of science units with classroom teachers. An additional area of interest is environmental literacy and climate change education.

She is part of the Mid-Atlantic Association for Science Teacher Education and the Association for Science Teacher Education. 

Dr. Wilson has also been serving as a member of the RCOE Mentoring Guild since Fall 2021.

She has received accolades from the college for her work, including:

• In 2013, the Community of Practice Award with Dr. Leslie Bradbury, Jeff Goodman, and Dr. Lisa Gross;
• In 2018, the Outstanding Teaching Award, and
• In 2023, the Community of Practice Award with the Mentoring Guild.
